Word Challenge: Rain

You didn’t know what it was about the September weather yet it seemed to soothe your soul. The sound of the pellets hitting your window was almost like a soft melody that was played to a newborn after their first night. Cup of tea in hand you sat in the local café where you watched those who were out in the rain run through the streets to get out of their drenching fate. However you found this relaxing; an escape from reality that came from this deep sense of bliss, though the tea increased the sense of such.
Looking down at your tea cup you pushed a loose strand of hair behind your ear and continued drinking until the very last drop, to which you frowned at and looked up for more.

Your waiter, as you knew as Levi Ackerman, walked towards you and gave a soft ‘tch’.

“Already done with another cup of tea? You know you should taste the damn thing rather than chugging it down to the last drop, brat.”

Even if his unfriendly, yet humorous, behavior seemed out of place it seemed to suit him quite well. Those steel eyes looked into yours with a mutual emotion even if he weren’t one to speak them out and neither were you. You two had met at a store nearby when you were restocking on some tea packets, which for some odd reason you don’t do anymore, and he referred you to his favorite brand after a brief question. You being curious and all had asked him as to how he knew so much upon the subject and he informed you that he worked at a café down the street. You never heard of the place before so one day when you were returning from a long day of worked you just stopped by and had a quick cup.
The sad thing is that it didn’t become a quick cup; no it became cup after another, just drinking to your heart’s delight. Thankfully your servant was the man you had met earlier and every time you asked for another taste he would comply without another thought and you thanked him for that. You didn’t need another question from someone after work and he seemed to understand by the bags under your eyes.

After that meeting you two had shared little tidbits of information with each other, just brief exchanges once you stepped into the heavenly shop. You even got used to his god awful language and it still didn’t deter you from your new friend.

“Hello, earth to (f/n).” Levi tried to get your attention while placing another cup of tea before you. “You look constipated; you need to shit or something?”

You let out a soft laugh and looked up at the older male, “I’m okay… just thinking.” Your (color) eyes averted from his and focus on the rain droplets that slid down the windows, taking much relief that you never ever said what was really on your mind to the observing raven haired man.

“(f/n) if there’s something on your mind you know you got me, even if I don’t seem to give 5 shits I really do.” Levi said while folding his arms and sitting down at the seat across from yours.

Letting out a soft sigh you rested your cheek on the palm of your hand, your (hair length) (hair color) covered your eyes for a moment.

“I like you, I like you a lot. You seem to get me a lot and just you go out of your way in the littlest things just to help me out. I just admire you because of h-“

“So let me get this straight?” Levi held up his hand and paused whatever you were about to say which surprised you even more. “You LIKE me? It’s not some shitty joke you’re trying to pull right?”

You blinked and tilted your head, giving a genuinely confused expression.
“Why would I joke about me liking you, I really do…” You grumbled and your cheeks tinted as the realization of your confession sank in.

“I m-mean…” Your determined attitude faded into one of shyness, you fiddled with your finger and took a sip from the tea before you. Your eyes focused on the piece of cloth before you as a way to keep distracted from the male who was stain you down as if you were another stain on the carpet.

“You should’ve told me this earlier dumbass… would’ve saved me the effort of trying to ask you out.” Levi stated bluntly while sitting straight in his chair, “Though I see you really had some guts to even say it first. That’s one of the many things I like about you.”

You began to blush even further after what he had said, “You do?”

“Wasn’t it obvious….. Even shitty glasses knew.” He said while pointing at an observing boss in the background, a wide crazed grin plastered on her face.

“I just didn’t expect you to like me as well.” You mumbled while looking up at him, to which he let out a laugh. His eyes softened as he stared looked into yours.

“I’m telling the truth as well… (f/n). You’re much a better woman than anyone of these dumbasses that cross those doors and you are far more interesting.”

“I thought you liked Petra…” You admitted while glancing at the ginger (or was it blonde like in the manga?) who was cleaning the tables not so far off. You knew she had an eye for Levi and thinking on the same subject she thought that he had fallen for the beautiful (even shorter) girl.

“Why would you even think that? I mean she’s like a good friend yet not like that.” Levi cleared up your moment of doubt. To which you placed your head on the table and began laughing and almost on the urge of tears thanks to your relief.

“What’s wrong with you now?” Levi asked while watching you go into hysterics.

“It’s because I’m happy you jackass.”

“You are so strange you know…” he stated while lifting your head up.

“Is that an insult?”

“It’s a nice type of strange.”

“You’re digging yourself a large hole.”

What type of hole?

“LEVI!”

And even then the rain continued to pour outside the café, yet this was another reason why you loved the rain of September because that day you were able to finally confess to that dick of a guy, Levi Ackerman.
